“BEFORE THE SURGERY, LIKE MOST PEOPLE, I WAS SCARED”
I didn't like the idea of having my knee removed plus I don't like surgeries and I hate being put under anesthesia. That's why I put it off—I was really scared.
AFTER MEETING DR. GIRLING AND HIS STAFF AT SMASA, THEY JUST RELIEVED ALL THAT FEAR.
The way he likes to get to know you and then he tells you a little bit about himself makes your experience feel more comfortable than just ‘doctor-patient.’ It's almost like a friendship. Through that bond, I got the feeling that he really cares about his patients, so I felt comfortable with him and confident that he was going to do what was best for me. Plus, his staff is great.
What I really loved was the fact that he would let me go home after the surgery. I hadn't heard of that process before.
FOR ME, IT WAS VERY EASY. IT DIDN'T TAKE VERY LONG.
The surgery was less than 30 minutes. My surgery was the first surgery of the day. I went there at seven o'clock A.M. and I was home by 10:30 A.M.
THERE WAS VERY LITTLE PAIN.
When I first got up to walk, “I thought this was going to be horrible,” but it wasn't.
I think Dr. Girling is just I think he's a gifted doctor. I think he enjoys what he does, and he's very good at it. I was so thrilled that I had finally done it (the surgery) and with a surgeon that I felt really cared about me so would do such a good job—and, he did, he did excellently.
I can't wait to get the other one done!
